To save your computer’s memory and help active tabs run smoothly, iBrowe deactivates tabs that you aren’t currently using. When you access an inactive tab, it automatically reloads.
Enable or disable Memory Saver
To enable or disable the Memory Saver feature:
- Launch iBrowe
- Navigate to Menu → Settings → System → Performance
- Toggle the Memory Saver option on/off:

Keep specific sites active
You may elect to add exceptions to the feature in order to keep specific sites active. Note: The URL format for site exclusion is as follows:
[scheme://][.]host[:port][/path][@query]
To add a site to the exclusion list:
- Next to Always keep these sites active, click Add
- Enter the web address
If you want to create an exception for:
- Entire domains and subdomains: Exclude the URL scheme. For example, entering ibrowe.com matches and prevents deactivation of subdomains like account.ibrowe.com or talk.ibrowe.com
- A specific subdirectory: Include a dot (.) before the URL host. For example, www.ibrowe.com/blog matches and prevents deactivation of all Blog pages, but will not prevent deactivation of the main www.ibrowe.com pages.
- URL host and query components: Asterisks (
*) can be used as wildcards that match any character(s). For example,https://*matches and prevents deactivation of all https sites andyoutube.com/watch?v=*matches and prevents deactivation of YouTube videos.
Note that wildcards for prefix, suffix, or substring matches of the URL host component aren’t supported.
For example, *oogle.com or google.com/* won’t match and prevent deactivation.
Click Add.
Change inactive tabs appearance
When using the Memory Saver feature, tabs that are inactive will display a “dotted circle” surrounding the favicon of the website on that tab:

For users who may not want inactive tabs to display this way, you can disable this feature by going to Settings → Appearance → Tabs and toggle the Inactive tabs option “off”:

How do I use the Energy Saver Feature?
To extend your device’s battery, iBrowe reduces its image capture rate and other background tasks. When Energy Saver is on, it works automatically whenever your device is unplugged, or when your battery is low. Energy Saver doesn’t turn on when your device is plugged in.
To enable or disable Energy Saver:
- Launch iBrowe
- Navigate to Menu → Settings → System → Power
- Toggle the Energy Saver option on/off
Would you like me to make a version where “brave://settings” links are also replaced with “ibrowe://settings” (for in-app docs)?
