🧩 What Extensions Are Built Into iBrowe? 🚀
Besides being compatible with almost any third-party Chrome extensions, iBrowe comes with several useful built-in extensions and components pre-installed to enhance your browsing experience. 🔥
🔍 How to Find Built-In Extensions 🔎 Click the Main Menu icon ☰ at the top-right. Go to Settings ⚙️ → Extensions 🧩
🔑 Allow Google Login for Extensions 🔐 Enables chrome.identity API so extensions can authenticate users with an OAuth token from Google. This token can retrieve personal info like email and profile data. 📧👤 Note: This is a 3rd party login, so some extensions like Google Keep might require a 1st party login and may not work fully in iBrowe. ⚠️ More info: chrome.identity API 📚 💬 Hangouts 💬 Lets you use Google Hangouts services directly in iBrowe. 💻 Includes the Hangouts extension, the web version at hangouts.google.com, and the Gmail Hangouts sidebar. 📞 Download requests for Hangouts are proxied through iBrowe servers to hide your IP and other identifiable info. 🛡️ 📺 Media Router 📡 Enables casting of browser content to devices like Chromecast or smart TVs with Chromecast built-in. 📲➡️📺 The component is installed through iBrowe’s proxy servers to protect your privacy by stripping identifiable info. 🕵️♂️ 🌐 WebTorrent ⏳ A P2P torrent streaming client built in JavaScript, allowing torrent streaming and downloading right inside iBrowe without additional software. 🎥🎵 Torrent files are kept in memory (RAM) unless you choose to save them locally. 💾 If disabled, torrents will open in your device’s default torrent app. 📂 When enabled, opening a torrent or magnet link launches the WebTorrent client in a new browser tab:
You can save .torrent files locally or stream media content directly in the browser while downloading.
🔐 Widevine 🔒 Digital Rights Management (DRM) needed for streaming licensed content from services like Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, HBO, and more. 🎬📺 Allows iBrowe to play protected videos securely. Technical details: See Widevine documentation on GitHub. 📖 ⚙️ Manage Extensions 🧩 View and control any third-party extensions you’ve installed. Learn more about managing extensions in the iBrowe Help Center. 📘 ⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts for Extensions 🎹 Customize keyboard shortcuts for your installed extensions. Access via ibrowe://extensions/shortcuts or from the Extensions menu. Click the pencil icon ✏️ next to any shortcut to edit it. Note: Not all extensions support customizable shortcuts. ⚠️
