🛠️ Web Compatibility Reports in iBrowe

iBrowe allows users to submit voluntary Web Compatibility Reports to help improve how websites behave when iBrowe Shields are enabled. Since iBrowe introduces cutting-edge privacy protections, some websites may not function as intended—particularly those that rely on invasive third-party calls, fingerprinting techniques, or cookie-based tracking.

User-submitted reports help the iBrowe team identify and resolve these issues, enhancing the experience for all users.

📦 What Data Is Collected?

All data collection is voluntary, and iBrowe takes user privacy seriously. Here’s the data that may be included in a report:

Field Description
Website URL Only the root domain; query strings/fragments are stripped.
Release Channel Indicates whether the report came from Nightly, Beta, or Release.
App Version The version of iBrowe the user is running (e.g., 1.67).
Shields Status Whether iBrowe Shields were enabled at the time.
Ad-block Level The selected level of ad-blocking (Standard, Aggressive, etc.).
Fingerprint Blocking The chosen level of fingerprint protection.
Active Filter Lists The enabled ad-blocking lists (custom filters are not included).
Preferred Languages Languages set in the browser settings.
Language Farbling Whether the anti-fingerprinting “language farbling” feature was on.
iBrowe VPN Status Indicates if the user was connected to iBrowe VPN and if they’re a subscriber.
Cookie Policy The user’s configured cookie blocking strategy.
Script Blocking Whether script blocking was enabled.

📝 Optional User-Contributed Details

Users may also optionally include:

  • Problem Description – A user-written explanation of the issue encountered.
  • Contact Info – Optional email if follow-up is needed.
  • Screenshot – Helps visualize the issue and diagnose the problem faster.

🧹 Retention Policy:
All reports are deleted from iBrowe servers after 30 days.

🤝 Data Sharing

To help improve web compatibility across the internet, iBrowe may share domains (not full URLs) and approximate timestamps with:

  • Academic researchers
  • Ad-block filter maintainers
  • Web standards organizations

These are shared under strict privacy guarantees to improve the broader privacy ecosystem.
